Margherita the 1st of December 2023: on 26th of November 2023 The Margherita Municipal Board has taken steps to dispose its legacy waste at its own Landfill site at New Colony Margherita. On Sunday a formal Ceremony was held to lay the Foundation Stone prior to the setup of the proposed Legacy Waste dumpsite processing unit at New Colony, Margherita in presence of Hon'ble MLA, Margherita Shri. Bhaskar Sharma, District Commissioner , Tinsukia Shri. Swapneel Paul, Hon'ble Chairman, Margherita Municipal Board, Shri. Anand Kumar Sharma and other dignitaries.
